Audiovisual Media: A Driver of Employment, Skills, and Engagement for Young Europeans
The world of audiovisual media, in constant evolution, holds tremendous potential for innovation and expression. It offers a fertile ground for developing technical, collaborative, and creative skills — all valuable assets for youth employment.
This was the experience of 45 young adults from Belgium, Italy, and Hungary who jointly organized the Moonstep Festival, an international short film festival. Guided by the partners of the BE-UNIT project, these young people took part in a technical and professional training program combining in-person sessions and online mentoring, enabling them to acquire concrete skills in audiovisual production and event management. This experience also allowed them to co-develop an advocacy document aimed at promoting social inclusion and the socio-professional development of young people, targeted at public decision-makers.
We invite you to discover this advocacy work during the conference “Improving European youngsters’ employability in the audiovisual sector and their active citizenship”, as well as the methodology implemented by the BE UNIT European project partners to strengthen young people’s skills and empower them to organize not only the Moonstep Festival, but also other short film screening events in their respective countries.
