BoostIT Summer Workshops: 11 Free Digital Skills Workshops for Young People in Brussels

Actualité

This summer, POUR LA SOLIDARITÉ–PLS, in partnership with the CPAS of the City of Brussels, is launching the BoostIT Summer Workshops—a new series of free digital workshops for young people aged 18 to 30, including NEETs and students.

Designed as a summer adaptation of the BoostIT Turbo format, these BoostIT summer workshops offer themed afternoon sessions. The topics are practical and accessible, focusing on everyday digital needs, autonomy and socio-professional integration. These digital workshops run by the CPAS of Brussels are aimed at young people living in the City of Brussels, including Laeken, Haren and Neder-over-Heembeek, whether they are students, jobseekers or at risk of disengagement.

Practical and accessible digital workshops

The BoostIT training team designed the BoostIT Summer Workshops to address very practical needs among young people:

  • Administrative procedures : better manage online administrative procedures ;
  • Employment  : use AI in a job search; create or improve a CV ;
  • Creation : develop digital content and boost creativity ;
  • Office tools : discover digital tools useful for work and everyday life ;
  • Optimisation : make better use of a computer or smartphone, including maintenance and optimisation ;
Each morning session focuses on a specific theme through practical exercises, real-life scenarios and concrete projects. The aim is to offer a less academic and more participatory approach to digital skills.
In line with the teaching approach developed through the BoostIT programme, the workshops are based on an active and inclusive methodology. Participants mainly learn by doing, in a supportive environment that encourages mutual support, experimentation and renewed self-confidence.

The digital workshops are an opportunity to develop your digital skills in a relaxed summer atmosphere.

A re-engagement tool for young people distant from digital technology or employment

Through these workshops, the BoostIT programme also seeks to reach young people who do not always take part in traditional training schemes. Open access, flexible daily formats and a practical approach help reduce some of the barriers commonly faced by NEET young people or those distant from employment.

The project is part of a broader effort to tackle the digital divide and support the autonomy of young adults in the Brussels area.
