AGORA 2030 – Strengthening Third Places as Spaces for Citizen Participation in the Ecological Transition

Funded by the European Union’s Erasmus+ programme, the AGORA 2030 project aims to strengthen the role of third places as spaces for citizen participation capable of accelerating the ecological transition.
Through a multi-stakeholder European partnership, this project seeks to develop the skills of third-place facilitators, structure exchanges between researchers and practitioners, and create innovative educational tools to support citizens in adopting more sustainable practices.
The project brings together five organisations from four countries, all committed to ecology, citizen participation, and collective intelligence.

Main Objectives

  • strengthen third places as key actors in the ecological transition;
  • create a European toolbox to raise awareness of the ecological transition among different target groups;
  • professionalize facilitators through targeted training in ecology and collective intelligence;
  • build sustainable European cooperation between third places, researchers, and educational actors;
  • develop a White Paper for advocacy purposes to help inform local and European public policies.
