ENACT: 2025 shaped by European study visits and agri-food innovation

Actualité

In 2025, the European project ENACT – Enabling Social Innovation Entrepreneurship in Agri-Food through Digital Transition – continued its commitment to advancing the digital transition and social innovation in the agri-food sector.

Coordinated by a consortium of European partners, including Pour la Solidarité, the project combined transnational study visits, participatory workshops, and a European hackathon to encourage the exchange of practices and the co‑creation of concrete solutions.

Four Study Visits to Learn and Collaborate at the European Level

Throughout the year, four study visits brought together SMEs and social‑economy actors around innovative projects and good practices in digitalisation and social agri‑food initiatives.
In Portugal (Alentejo), participants discovered local initiatives linking the social economy, entrepreneurship, and the digital transition in rural areas.
  • In Lithuania (Vilnius), exchanges focused on social and digital innovation through field visits and a needs analysis workshop.
  • In Spain (Catalonia), participants explored flagship initiatives such as La Fageda, Fundació Sant Tomàs, the BETA Technological Centre, Mercabarna, and projects led by the Red Cross.
  • In Austria (Vienna), the final study visit focused on digital and social innovation, with workshops, field visits, and discussions on digital tools and circular business models.

A European hackathon to turn ideas into action

Building on the momentum of the study visits, ENACT organised a European hackathon in Vilnius, bringing together 45 participants from 10 countries. Over two days, the teams worked on key challenges facing the social agri‑food sector, ranging from sustainability to digitalisation.
Nine innovative solutions emerged, including three winning projects — Good2Grow, HarvestCommunity, and WelcomeHome — which were presented at the AgriFood Forum 2025.

A European Dynamic Serving Social Impact

Through these activities, ENACT strengthened cooperation among European stakeholders and confirmed the potential of the digital transition as a lever for social impact and sustainability in the agri‑food sector. As a partner of the project, Pour la Solidarité plays an active role in this dynamic by supporting exchanges, capitalising on learning outcomes, and disseminating the results.

“Training of Trainers (ToT)” course — a call for organisations in the social agri-food economy

A training course will be held in Brussels from 26 to 28 January 2026. The objective: to train “trainers” within social‑economy support organisations so that they, in turn, can help field actors develop their digitalisation and innovation practices.
The training will focus on two main modules:
  • developing digital and innovation skills (Your Skills for Tomorrow);
  • support for accessing European funding for digital innovation (Finance your Digital Innovation).
