Stand up for transnational innovation in the Mediterranean

Launched in 2013, the CITEK project aims at developing innovative capacity in the Mediterranean area, relying on strategic cooperation between public and private actors and social economy organizations. CITEK capitalizes the results of the MED Programme, whose ouputs were set out during a final event in Brussels in March 2015. PLS is pleased to present three innovative tools from this project.

Inviting marginalized groups to challenge the structures creating marginality in the financial sector

The European think & do tank POUR LA SOLIDARITÉ – PLS is in charge of coordinating a participatory research activity on Financialization and Wellbeing where civil society organizations (CSOs) from 9 different countries participate. The activity aims to elicit the perspectives of economically disadvantaged on the financial system and on the reforms that these envisage in order to better tailor the financial sector to their needs.

Financial sector and wellbeing – a participatory reflection

Between 11th and 13th of February, PLS organises in Brussels a workshop with representatives of civil society organisations from ten different countries on the relationship between the financial sector and wellbeing. The workshop aims to build up the capacity of participant civil society organisations to carry out research on financialization and wellbeing.

FESSUD – Financialisation, Economy, Society and Sustainable Development

FESSUD brings together expertise from 14 leading universities across Europe and South Africa and one civil society organisation to look afresh at how the financial system affects the world around us. We need to know what can be done to make the financial system work for society, the economy and the environment and not – as has sometimes been the case – the other way round.

Between January 2010 and June 2011, Spain, Belgium and Hungary will successively head the Presidency of the EU Council. PLS, Europa Haz (Hungary) and Fundación ONCE (Spain) have analyzed the involvement of civil society organizations in identifying and implementing the program of the Spanish-Belgian-Hungarian Presidential trio.
